Collaboration and Group Exhibition in Bologna with Illustrators Ireland

Created for the group exhibition Serendipity, shown during the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, this illustration was part of a collaborative project between artists from RiSialto Bottega Creativa and members of the Illustrators Guild of Ireland.

Beginning with a series of handmade works crafted in Italy, illustrators were invited to respond with entirely new artworks inspired by the original pieces — each one becoming a visual conversation across materials, colour and storytelling.

It’s All About Timing my piece in the exhibition was Inspired by the jewellery by Locagiuliva, I was immediately drawn to her use of bold shapes and vibrant colour. Her earrings reminded me of an aerial view of two trains passing on parallel tracks—moving in opposite directions and briefly meeting for a moment in time.

It was a joy to be one of twenty nine illustrators selected for the exhibition, and an especially meaningful experience as my first exhibition with Illustrators Ireland.
